The structure of the Ministry of defense will change under NATO standards

The structure of the defense Ministry and General staff will lead to compliance to requirements of NATO

The change in the restructuring of the structure will affect both the General staff and the Ministry of defense, and combat units.

Advisor to the President of Ukraine, adviser to the Minister of defense of Ukraine Yuri Biryukov said on air of the 5th channel in the next two years will be changed to the restructuring structure of the Ministry of defense according to NATO standards.

Biryukov said that the change to the restructuring of the structure will affect how senior management i.e. the General staff and the Ministry of defense, and combat units.

“In particular, the transition to NATO standards provides that in 2018, the chief of General staff – chief will be split into two people. That is, separately we will have a commander in chief, and separately, chief of the General staff … unit-level change management. As far as I know, given more powers “below” more freedom in the use of weapons and more freedom in giving orders lower commanders. Also changed logistic system, changing the system of training”, − said the adviser.

Earlier, the Minister of foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin stated that Ukraine will achieve all the standards of NATO until 2020.
