The miners demand the arrears of wages

Delaying salary in Ukraine violated the Convention on the right of people to reward for their labor.

The head of the Independent trade Union of miners of Ukraine Mykhaylo Volynets said that he had sent to the International labour organization (ILO), which is a structural subdivision of the UN, a complaint about violation of the rights of coal miners in connection with delays of salaries. He said this on his page in Facebookв Thursday, August 16.

In the complaint, in particular, stating that Ukraine violated the ILO Convention on the right to remuneration for their work.

“So we used a very strong mechanism for the situation in the end moved,” wrote Wolyniec.

He also noted that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has not signed the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law which provides for the allocation of state-owned mines further 1.4 billion hryvnia (over $ 50 million) subsidies for the repayment of wage arrears to miners.

“So, before the Day of independence and day of the miner debt reaches 1 billion hryvnia (more than $ 36 million). For some two weeks more will be added 500 million (18.2 million dollars). So the miners have no choice but to resort to protest actions”, – said Volynets.

We will remind, on the eve of the Donbass miners in three mines went on strike. The miners are demanding repayment of wage arrears, which currently stands at 71 million.

And in the beginning of July miners from different regions staged another rally in front of Parliament in Kiev with the requirement to pay wage arrears and to increase funding of the industry.
