The parliamentary constitutional Commission of Turkey has approved amendments to the country’s Constitution, which provides for the expansion of presidential powers, writes Turkish Minute.

“The parliamentary constitutional Commission approved the amendments to the Constitution proposed by the ruling party of Justice and development that pave the way to a presidential system on the background of concerns about sole power,” – said in the message.

According to the amendments, the President will single-handedly lead the Executive branch.

In particular, he will be able to appoint Vice-presidents and Ministers, to dissolve Parliament and declare a state of emergency without the consent of Parliament.

Note, in early 2016, he tried to reform the Executive power in Turkey and to strengthen the role of the President.

As previously reported, Turkey will allocate more than $ 3 million for the Ukrainian army.
