Ukraine resumed its work in PACE

Ukrainian deputies in the parliamentary Assembly intend to go to the “post-monitoring dialogue” with the PACE.

At a fraction of the servant of the people said that the permanent delegation of Ukraine to the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe aims to move to a post-monitoring dialogue with PACE. On Monday, January 27, said the Deputy head of the faction Yevheniya Kravchuk on his page in Facebook.

“In this session we at full strength: the 12 core members + 12 deputies, and, therefore, is the chance better and to better introduce the new delegation. In this aspiration we are all one, and the political color subject for discussion at home… Our ambitious goal – transition to post-monitoring dialogue with PACE. In this sense, it is important to show concrete results of work on fight against corruption in Ukraine, because it has always been one of the main challenges posed to our country,” – said Kravchuk.

She recalled that in the fall of 2019, domestic delegation went to Strasbourg to show the world the rejection by Ukraine of Russia’s return to PACE.

“The reputation of the organization was under threat, because the Russian Federation has not fulfilled any obligation provided for more than 20 resolutions of the PACE adopted during the years of aggression. Today we are here to take the next step to protect the interests of Ukraine is to unite various stakeholders around the values and principles of the Organization”, – said the politician. According to her, PACE to regain the trust and its status as one of the most powerful international sites.

We will remind, last summer, PACE supported the resolution on returning of the Russian delegation. The document changes the rules of the Assembly and complicates the procedure of applying sanctions, in particular against Russia. After it became known that Ukraine has officially stopped work in PACE.

The autumn session of the PACE Ukrainian delegation missed, but came back for the winter.
