Tourists can expect a risk of terrorist attacks for the New year

Foreign Ministry warns Ukrainians about the dangers when visiting the countries of the European Union on new year’s holidays. Travellers should avoid crowded places because of the threat of terrorist acts. It is reported by the Department of consular service of the foreign Ministry in Facebook.

“According to the U.S. Department of State, there is a high probability that the terrorist group ISIS, al-Qaeda and their supporters are planning terrorist attacks in Europe”, – stated in the message.

Last year extremists carried out attacks in France, Belgium, Germany and Turkey.

European authorities warned of possible attacks during mass events, tourist sites, restaurants, shopping centres and transport.

“We strongly recommend citizens of Ukraine during the Christmas and new year travelling to refrain from visiting crowded places and being in public, to be vigilant. Please take care of the contact data of embassies and consulates of Ukraine”, – stated in the message.

Recall Корреспондент.net reported that in Berlin a truck crashed into the crowd. Police confirmed the death of 12 people, 48 people were injured. Among the victims of the terrorist attack in Berlin could be a citizen of Ukraine.
