The may day holiday is rapidly losing popularity among Ukrainians. This is evidenced by data survey, conducted by the Kiev international Institute of sociology.

The most popular official holidays among Ukrainians are Easter (her favorite holiday is considered 81% of respondents), Christmas (78%) and New year (74%).

International women’s day, celebrating love and 37% of the respondents, the Day of Victory of 35%, Trinity – 34%, Ukraine’s Independence Day – 20%.

The least popular official holidays – the Day of international solidarity of workers (6.6%) and Constitution Day (5%).

Compared to 2013, has decreased the popularity of the Victory Day (from 40 to 35%), New year (from 82% to 74%), March 8 (from 49% to 37%) and the First of may (from 10% to 7%).

But Independence Day scored 8% (was 12%, was 20%).

As it turned out, women have more respect for religious holidays and, unsurprisingly, the 8th of March. The men closest Victory Day and independence Day.

In the West of Ukraine is considered the most important religious holidays, but Victory Day, March 8 and New year’s unpopular. In the East the situation is reversed – where the main celebrations take place in the New year, also respect the Victory Day and international women’s day.

Independence day is honored on the South and on the West and East support this holiday is very weak (only 8%).

In total, 98% of Ukrainians said that I love public holidays.

The survey was conducted from 5 to 16 February 2016 by the Method of interview respondents 2020 respondents living in all regions of Ukraine and in the capital, and also in the Crimea on stochastic selection, representative of the population of Ukraine over 18 years.
