The General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) adopted a resolution calling for an immediate end to military action in Syria. About it reports Reuters.

This resolution was adopted by 122 votes on Friday. It also refers to the need of access for humanitarian assistance throughout the country and the end of all sieges, including in Aleppo.

36 countries abstained. General Assembly resolutions are not binding, but can carry political weight.

We will remind, on December 5, Russia and China vetoed a draft resolution of the UN Security Council, which included a seven-day ceasefire in Aleppo, Syria.

On Monday it became known that the Syrian government troops seized two districts in Eastern Aleppo, which were under rebel control. Three weeks ago, Syrian troops backed by Russian aircraft began a new offensive in the East of the city.
