Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with the US Ambassador at large for international religious freedom, Samuel Brownback.

The US authorities to support Ukraine in the fight for the right to have a single Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

In turn, Poroshenko stressed that religious freedom is an integral part of Ukrainian identity.

We are proud to have a worthy state of religious freedom in Ukraine, which is guaranteed by the Constitution of Ukraine and law of Ukraine on freedom of conscience and religious organizations, as well as the traditionally high level of tolerance that prevails in Ukrainian society,” – said Poroshenko.

He presented Brownback with the steps that are carried out towards the creation of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. The President thanked the American side for supporting Ukraine in this process.
