Grain exports from Ukraine in the new marketing year could reach a record in 45,66 million tons.

The Ministry of agriculture, U.S. (USDA) in August improved the forecast of grain crop harvest in Ukraine at 1.85 million tons to 65.6 million tons. About it reports Interfax-Ukraine citing data from the U.S. Department Thursday, August 16.

In particular, the corn harvest in Ukraine in 2018 increased by 1 million tons compared to the July forecast to 31 million tons. And the forecast of corn exports to 2018/2019 marketing year (MG, July-June) also increased 0.5 million tons to 24.5 million tons.

The USDA kept their forecast for wheat exports from Ukraine in 2018/2019 MG at the level of 16.5 million tons with a yield of 25.5 million tons, which corresponds to the published figures in July.

In General, U.S. Agency increased the forecast of grain harvest in Ukraine at 1.85 million tons to 65.6 million tons, exports at 1.45 million tons, to 45.66 million tonnes.

We will remind, last marketing year Ukraine exported 39,4 million tons of grain in the amount of $ 6.4 billion. At the same time the year before 2016/2017 marketing year, Ukraine has set a new record for grain exports, sending abroad 44,4 million tons of grain.

The grain harvest in Ukraine in 2017 amounted to 61,28 million tons, 4.7 million tons lower than in 2016.

In 2018, the Ministry of agrarian policy forecasts grain harvest in Ukraine at the level of last year – “60 million tonnes+”.
