The Venice Commission was delighted with the establishment of anti-corruption court in Ukraine

The President of the Commission encouraged all involved to ensure rapid formation of the court and to provide him with the appropriate tools to function.

The Venice Commission considers the adoption of the law on the anti-corruption court in Ukraine is evidence of the continuing reforms. On Thursday, June 7, said the President of the Commission Gianni Buquicchio.

“With great pleasure – and I would even say with great joy that I learned about today’s decision of the Verkhovna Rada on the adoption of the law on Higher anti-corruption court. According to reports, the new law complies with the recommendations of the Venice Commission,” said Buquicchio.

He congratulated the members of the Verkhovna Rada of today’s vote and thanked all who had contributed to the adoption of the law.

According to the President of the Commission, this is an important step for Ukraine and for Europe.

Also Buquicchio called on all involved to ensure rapid formation of the court and to provide him with the appropriate tools to function.

We will remind, on 7 June, the Verkhovna Rada at the meeting of the 315 votes supported the establishment of a Higher anti-corruption court.
