Adopted this week bills to Rada to approve the following

The presidential bill proposes a number of amendments to the law on NACP, including to abolish state funding of parties.

The Verkhovna Rada at a meeting on Wednesday, September 11, 283 votes adopted in the first reading the President’s bill No. 1029 to restart the National Agency for prevention of corruption.

The bill requires the rejection of the collegial responsibility of the members of the NACP, it will be assigned to the Chairman of the Agency. The head of the Agency will appoint the government on the basis of open competitive selection.

NACP also needs to obtain full access to the registries for the automatic verification of declarations.

Also, the draft law aims to correct some other flaws contained in the law on prevention of corruption, including an exception that allowed the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada convocation 9 not to file a Declaration upon accession to office.

Also does away with the need to submit declarations by members of the public and persons who do not carry out state functions or local government.

In addition, the bill proposes the abolition of state funding of parties that did not overcome the 5 percent threshold in the election. Now get Federal funding for parties that received over 2% of the vote.

Also provides a double reduction of the state financing of parties.

Earlier today the MPs adopted in the first reading the draft law on the punishment for illegal enrichment.
