Lexus has not yet released a fully electric car, despite the fact that almost all the premium brands have already done it.

Electric cars are still too far from the mainstream, and so the Lexus brand does not lag behind others, and better suited to the development of alternative powertrains. This was stated by the head of the brand, Yoshihiro Sawa.

Lexus has not yet released a fully electric car, despite the fact that almost all the premium brands either already have, or are preparing to release new models of electric vehicles.

According to the CEO of Lexus, pure electric vehicles currently require a long charging time, and their batteries don’t have the most positive impact on the environment during manufacturing and significantly reduce its increasing their number.

The company believes that the issue of battery replacement is much more difficult and more important than the current boom in electric mobility production.

The automaker plans to launch its first fully electric vehicle in 2020 – around the same time, Toyota plans to launch its own electric cars.

Recently it became known that Ford will move the production of electric vehicles, phasing out of internal combustion engines (ice).
