To Ukraine from Oman returned 15 members of the crew of a bankrupt Free Neptune (flag of Liberia). About it reports the UNIAN with reference to the trade Union of workers of sea transport of Ukraine on Monday, July 30.

“Today in Ukraine there are 15 members of the crew of the ship Free Neptune, which were in the Sultanate of Oman on Board this vessel because of the debt the payment by the shipowner of wages”, – noted in the Union.

In the charity Fund of the seamen’s Assol reported that the sailors several years are forced to survive in the abandoned Greek ship operator in Oman.

It is noted that in March 2017 to Ukraine from Oman returned seven members of the crew of a bankrupt Free Neptune, another 15 Ukrainian sailors remained on the ship in a critical situation.

Free Neptune with a crew of 22 people (all citizens of Ukraine) in the summer of 2015 came into the port of Muscat in Oman to replenish water and provisions, however, the vessel operator – the Greek company Free Вulkers SA – refused to pay for the shipment to the local agent. Later it became known that the ship owner is bankrupt. The crew was in isolation, was forced to declare a hunger strike.

We will remind, last week in Ukraine returned 12 sailors who are more than a year ago was arrested in Greece on suspicion of smuggling weapons. They met in Odessa.

Earlier it was reported that in Greece two citizens of Ukraine were put on 180 years on charges of smuggling migrants. Initially they were threatened for 630 years in prison.
