Поезд Шелкового пути вернулся в Украину пустым

The train was ceremonially launched on 15 January

Chinese and Ukrainian companies are not ready to pilot the transport.

The first experimental freight train, which was launched on 15 January by the so-called new silk road, on April 17, returned to Ukraine. About this informed the Agency Interfax-Ukraine, the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.

As reported, on April 7 the train with empty containers was sent from the station Dostyk (Kazakhstan).

In Ukrzaliznytsia noted that the regularity of operating of container train is determined by the market demand for such a service. Currently we are studying the potential traffic that can be diverted for transportation in the container train.

“The capacity of project participants easily allowed for sending a container train, which will transport 1 thousand tons of goods weekly in each direction,” – said the press service.

According to the press service, the traffic became interested in the domestic manufacturers of paperboard, ceramic tiles, steel, electrodes, furniture, confectionery, meat and dairy products, sugar, pottery and steel, etc. However, these companies already have well-established logistics transportation of goods to China, as Chinese manufacturers – products in Ukraine.

“The revision of logistics plans and coordination with their partner needs time for approval. In addition, it is clear the concern of producers for changing existing schemes of transportation of cargoes in difficult economic times. But despite such obstacles, there is confidence in the effectiveness of the work started on the project,” – said the press service.

In addition to designating trains in Europe Ukrzaliznytsia is planning on using the trains for transportation of Ukrainian senders and receivers. To date, movement of container trains on the territory of Ukraine. His average speed running is about 1,150 thousand km in a day.

As reported, Ukraine launched an experimental train on the new silk road from Ilyichevsk. The train went along the route Ukraine – Georgia – Azerbaijan – Kazakhstan – China.

We will remind, the first train from Ukraine on the silk road has reached the end point of the route on February 1. The trip took 17 days due to delays on the territory of Kazakhstan. As it turned out, the train was detained for two days for lack of payment from the customer.
