The trade turnover between Turkey and Ukraine should be raised to $ 10 billion per year. On Monday, 9 October, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a briefing with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

“Today, considering the recent events, made the decision as quickly as possible to bring our trade turnover to $10 billion,” – said the Turkish President.

Erdogan also noted that in 2015 the two leaders proclaimed goal until 2020 is to double-to treble the bilateral trade.

In turn, President Poroshenko said that Ukraine and Turkey deepen strategic partnership.

“Our goal is to deepen the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Turkey. Our goal is on the basis of respect for international law, to ensure confidence, to ensure stability, to ensure stable development and prosperity in the whole region”, – said the Ukrainian President.

Poroshenko also said that now would be a dialogue directly.

“The realization of our goals, of course, will promote, among other things, the arrangement of the special confidential relationship which is established recently between the President of Ukraine and the President of Turkey,” – said Poroshenko.

As reported, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 9 visited Ukraine to participate in the sixth meeting of the Strategic Council between Turkey and Ukraine.
