Ukraine and Kazakhstan have agreed to cooperate in four areas in the field of nuclear energy. About it in interview “RBC-Ukraine” said the Minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik.

So, Kiev will consider the participation in the construction of a plant for the production of fuel rods in Kazakhstan, as Astana is the possibility of creating a joint venture for the extraction of uranium ore in Kazakhstan, where the cost of uranium ore 4 times cheaper ($30 per ton, in Ukraine – $ 129).

“And we buy a half thousand tons. The benefit is obvious,” said Nasalik.

Also, according to him, Kazakhstan expressed readiness to provide Ukraine with their technology of leaching (extraction of minerals and ores by means of chemical solvents using boreholes drilled into the Deposit, – ed), which are among the most progressive in the world.

“At the meeting of Kazakhstan confirmed readiness to develop mining in Ukraine mining method and leaching the surface,” said Nasalik.

One more direction of cooperation – Kazakhstan’s purchase of Ukrainian an ion exchange resin (used in the processing of radioactive waste, the purification of cooling water reactors and filters of the mixed action – ed.) in the amount of about 700 tons.

According to Kasalica, a Memorandum will be signed on September 17-18, when Ukraine will be representatives of “Kazatomprom”. This will be followed by a meeting of the two presidents, “most likely, the Memorandum will be transferred to state obligations of both parties.”

We will remind, in October 2015, Ukraine and Kazakhstan signed “Road map” of cooperation for the next 2 years. The parties agreed to intensify trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
