In 8 months the trade turnover of agricultural products between countries has increased two times.

Ukraine and Lithuania signed the agreed programme of bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture for 2017-2019. About it reports a press-service of the Ministry of agricultural policy Wednesday, October 4.

“Important issues of the bilateral programs is to exchange experience requirements, standards of quality and safety of food products, development of organic production. The active cooperation provided for in the research field and industry fisheries and forestry. But the priority in bilateral cooperation will remain the sphere of sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary”, – said the Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine on European integration Olga Trofimova.

She also added that over 8 months of 2017 the turnover of agricultural products between Ukraine and Lithuania amounted to 103.8 million dollars and has doubled compared to the same period last year.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman stated that the agricultural sector generates 12% of Ukraine’s GDP, but the potential is much larger.
