Poland would like to close this pedestrian crossing with Ukraine.

Ukraine and Poland for six months extended the opportunity of crossing the border crossing point “uhryniv-Dolhobychiv” in the Lvov area on foot. This is stated in the message of the State border service of Ukraine on Thursday, December 29.

The experimental pedestrian crossing was prolonged until 30 June 2017.

Earlier European righteousness reported that Poland appealed to Ukraine with a request to extend the validity of the pedestrian border crossing point “uhryniv-Dolhobychiv” and return to the road.

The Polish side has reminded that border crossing for pedestrians operated in the mode of the experiment, from 1 July 2015. After the first 6-month period, the work item twice been extended for another six months. In 16 months they took advantage of almost 230 thousand people, 85% of which were citizens of Ukraine. Once the item expires on 31 December 2016.

“The vast majority of those who crossed the border, was not really pedestrians or cyclists, and used a pedestrian item to expedite the passage of the border – came out of one car on the Ukrainian side and sat down on the other in Polish,” – said the poles.

We will remind, since December 22, at the Ukrainian-Polish border, began the experiment in front of the checkpoint “Krakovets”.
