According to the President, Ukraine in the law on education has defended the state language, and does not restrict the use of minority languages.

The education act does not restrict the languages of national minorities. This was stated by President Petro Poroshenko on Friday, October 6, at the meeting with the finalists of the Global Teacher Prize of Ukraine, reports the press service of the head of state.

“It is very important that the Law “On education” we are not just defended the Ukrainian language, but in fact does not restrict the languages of national minorities nor Hungarian, nor Slovak, or Romanian,” said the President.

According to Poroshenko, the new law allows children to learn and understand the Ukrainian language. In addition, the President stressed that educational reform, including inclusive education, creating unique opportunities for children with special needs.

“It is very important that children with special needs socializers in society. But on the other hand, society is learning to live and to provide a unified world for these children,” – said the head of state.

We will remind, on September 5 the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law, which begins the education reform in Ukraine. The document, in particular, specifies that the language of the educational process in educational institutions is the only state language.
