According to a press release, the first half of the goods-leaders of the Ukrainian agricultural exports remain crops with a share of 36.8%, vegetable oil – 26.2% of oilseeds and 7.5%.

“For six months of the current year, the highest growth rate of export showed the following product groups: eggs poultry – by 2.1 times ($27.7 million), apples, pears and quinces – 5.3% ($6.7 million), legume vegetables – in 58,3% ($11 million), butter and other fats derived from milk – 65.2% ($29.2 million) and other”, – reported the Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine on European integration Olga Trofimova.

According to her, the regional structure of Ukrainian agricultural exports has not changed: the first place is occupied by Asia with a share of 43.2%, the second place – the EU – 30,4%, and third place went to African countries – 14,6%.

“Top 5 largest customers in 2018 is headed by India, where it exported agricultural and food products worth more than $1 billion followed by Egypt – $575,9 million, China – $526,6 million, Netherlands – $525,3 million, Spain – $470,3 million,” – said the Deputy Minister.

For the first half of the total foreign trade turnover of agricultural products reached $11.3 billion, which is 3.5% more compared to the same period in 2017, and is 23% of the total foreign trade turnover of Ukraine.

“Last year, the Ukrainian agricultural exports reached a record of results to almost $18 billion this year is also expected no less given the situation on the world markets of commodities, such as grains”, – stated Trafimava.

Recall that agricultural and food exports brought Ukraine $6 billion.
