Permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations made a statement concerning the conviction of Ukrainian citizens in the annexed Crimea.

On Friday, April 19, the permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko expressed the protest of the conviction of the Ukrainian citizens in Simferopol and informed the UN Secretary General, antónio Guterres, about the latest human rights violations in the Crimea. It is reported by the Permanent mission of Ukraine to the UN on his Twitter page.

“Ukraine expressed its protest due to illegal decisions of the Russian occupation “court” in Simferopol, on the condemnation of the citizens of Ukraine on trumped-up charges”, – is spoken in the message.

Volodymyr Yelchenko sent a letter to the UN Secretary General, and added to it the statement of the MFA of Ukraine.

“The world must be informed of the violation of human rights in the occupied Crimea”, – said the diplomat.

Recall, March 27, in the Crimea, was searched, at least 25 homes of Crimean Tatars, including members of the public Association of Crimean solidarity. All were arrested 20 people, they were taken to the FSB in Simferopol.

The press service of the FSB stated that searches were conducted at the place of residence of alleged supporters of the banned in Russia, Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami.
