Ukraine has minimized the backlog from last year’s reserves of coal

The gap between the current and last year’s figures of coal reserves is steadily declining. At the end of July it reached 29,4%, and a week ago, is 8.7%.

Coal reserves in warehouses TPP and CHPP of Ukraine as of September 4 are 1,895 million tons. It’s by 0.02 million tonnes or 1.1% less than in the same period last year.

It is noted that in the summer of last year, coal stocks have declined, but this year they are growing. As a result, the gap between the current and last year is steadily declining: at the end of July he reached 1.67 million tons, or 29.4%, a week ago – 0,18 million tonnes, or 8.7%.

According to the Ministry, the situation with natural gas reserves is about the same: on September 3 they reached 14.8 billion cubic meters, which is just 0.2 billion cubic meters, or 1.3%, less than 3 September last year.

At the same time, oil reserves in the warehouses of power plants, is still twice lower than last year – 37,8 thousand tons compared to 75,5 thousand tons.

It was reported earlier that Ukraine increased coal reserves for the third straight week – up to 1 million 840 thousand tons.

Recall that in late July, the Cabinet approved the plan of measures on preparation for the heating period. According to the document, the gas reserves in underground storage facilities by 1 November 2018 should amount to 17 billion cubic meters of coal, 2.6 million tonnes (including anthracite brands – 1 million tons, and gas and 1.6 million tonnes) and fuel oil 130 tons.
