Ukraine has not lost the Azov sea – Tuk

Украина не потеряла Азовское море - Тука

In July, the OOS forces conducted exercises in the sea of Azov

The Deputy Minister believes that Russia is openly abusing their right to stop and inspect ships in the sea of Azov.

Ukraine is studying the power scenario of the unlocking of the Azov sea in response to actions of the Russian Federation. This was told the Deputy Minister on the issues of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons of Ukraine Georgy Tuka in an interview with the Apostrophe.

In particular, Tooke noted that the security unlocking of the Azov sea is studied. At the same time, he stressed that it is not ready to disclose such a scenario.

“The situation is very complicated, but I can’t say that we (the sea of Azov – ed.) is lost. I’m not ready to publish certain scenarios that we are exploring, including the use of force on unblocking. The issue is very complex. And I just would not want now, not having a solution, to talk about future actions,” said Tuck.

He also added that he sees no purely military solution to this problem.

“I don’t see a real way, how we own can cope with this situation. Because it is a purely military way, I do not see. Diplomatic? In accordance with existing regulations do, and the Ukrainian and Russian power structures have the right to stop and inspect ships. There are no restrictions. We are not talking about violations of rights, and the abuse of the law. It is absolutely different things. Instant solutions don’t exist, but it is necessary in this area. And we will work”, – said the Deputy Minister.

Earlier, the Navy acknowledged that Ukraine is not able to achieve parity with the black sea fleet of Russia, but this is not required in order to stop the aggression of the Russian Federation on the sea.
