In Ukraine for the first nine months produced 26.1 million tons of coal

The largest drop was recorded in mining of coking coal by almost 25%.

Production of raw coal in Ukraine in January-September 2017 decreased by 11.5% (3.4 million tons) compared to the same period of 2016 to 26.1 million tons.

According to Interfax-Ukraine, citing a source in the Ministry of energy and coal industry, coking coal mining fell by 22.9% (1.5 million tons) – up to 5.5 million tons, energy – 8.3% (1.9 million tons), to 21.1 million tons.

In September 2017 the extraction of raw coal decreased by 27.6% (970,7 thousand tons) compared to the same month last year – up to 2 544,1 million tons.

Mine Donetsk region in the first nine months of ensured production of 8.7 million tons of coal (-24,6% to January-September 2016), Luhansk – 1.6 million tons (-51,5%), Dnipropetrovsk – 14.6 million tons (+9.1%), the Lvov – 1.1 million tons (-4,1%), Volyn – 84,1 thousand tons (-42,2%).

As reported Корреспондент.netthe Ukraine reduced coal production. As of July 2017, it decreased by 12.2% compared to the same period of 2016 and amounted to 14.4 million tons.

We will remind, the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said earlier about the planned reduction of consumption of Ukraine’s anthracite in the future heating season. The government intends to modernize the power plant and to import coal from South Africa and the USA.
