In Ukraine entered into force changes to the rules of the road. From now on, the maximum allowed speed in settlements is 50 km/h.
“In settlements movement of vehicles is permitted at a speed not exceeding 50 km/h”, – stated in the new rules.
This is one of the measures aimed at reducing the number of road deaths in Ukraine. The government has made a number of changes, some of them the Parliament should consider – this is expected to happen in 2018.
In particular, the government propose to increase the penalties for “drunk driving accidents” to 3-12 years in prison with deprivation of the right to drive; to increase the penalties for driving without an appropriate certificate and speeding. In particular, for speeding more than 50 km/h in the village the amount of the fine may amount to 3400 UAH (previously – UAH 510).
We will remind, earlier about the need to reduce the maximum speed of traffic within the settlements was stated by the head of the interior Ministry Arsen Avakov. According to him, it had to be done due to the frequent road accidents.
The interior Ministry has launched an online test of knowledge of traffic rules
