The export of Ukrainian products to the EU in two months has exceeded a billion dollars. At the moment, the EU countries account for 36.5% of agricultural exports.

In January-February 2018 foreign trade turnover of agricultural products amounted to 3.7 billion dollars, of which $ 2.8 billion is export of Ukrainian agricultural and food products.

This was said by Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine on European integration Olga Trofimova, the press service of the Ministry on Monday, April 16.

“For the first two months of the current year Ukrainian agricultural exports increased by $ 102.1 million compared to the corresponding period in 2017 and amounted to 2.8 billion dollars. Our traditional leaders remain export crops with a share of 35.3%, oil – 24.1% and oilseeds – 12%,” said Trofimova.

According to her, during this period, significantly increased exports of poultry by $29 million, eggs at $11.4 million, butter – $20 million of chocolate – for $7.5 million of wine for $6.1 million

The export of Ukrainian products to the EU over this period increased by 28.1% or 224,7 million USD and reached 1,025 billion. At the moment the EU accounts for 36.5 percent of Ukrainian agricultural exports.

The largest Ukrainian importer was India – $335,9 million Also in the top five of the countries-major buyers are Spain – $201 million, Netherlands – $199,3 million, Egypt – $189.6 million and Italy’s $of 185.6.

Earlier it was reported that the export of Ukrainian goods to the EU for 2017 increased by 357 new headings. The number of companies exporting to the European Union increased from 13 402 to 2016 to 14 136 at the end of 2017.
