Ukraine in the first seven months of 2019 increased exports of agricultural products to EU countries by 34.3% compared to the same period last year to 4.1 billion dollars. This was announced by acting Minister of agrarian policy and food Olga Trofimova on the page in Facebook.

“Export of Ukrainian agricultural products to the EU in 7 months 2019 increased by 34.3% (or 1.04 billion) to 4.1 billion US dollars compared to the corresponding period in 2018,” she wrote.

According to Trofimovoj, the largest importers of Ukrainian agricultural products were the Netherlands, which sent 18% of the total production, Spain – 13,5%, Poland – 13,4%, Germany 11,1%, Italy – 10,6%.

Trofimova noted that the main export items during the reporting period were: grains, which exported 1.8 billion US dollars; vegetable oil – 921,9 million dollars; seeds of oil – 385,4 million dollars; bagasse and other waste of the food industry – 345,5 million dollars; poultry meat – 117,3 million dollars; fruit, nuts, peel – 78.6 million dollars.

The Minister added that as of September 2, Ukraine has 100% exhausted tariff import quotas of the EU for honey, sugar, barley cereals and flour, processed starch, processed tomatoes grape and Apple juice, corn and wheat. For butter, the quota used by 48%, and for the products of processed milk – by 33.3%.

In turn, the state statistics service reported that during the first seven months, Ukraine exported 7% more goods than in the corresponding period last year. At the same time, the volume of imports during the same period increased by 8.5%. According to gosstat, in January-July 2019, the export of goods amounted to 28,748 billion. USA, which is 7% higher compared to January-July of 2018, imports 33,684 billion., or 8.5% more.

The negative balance reached 4,936 billion. The coverage ratio of export import to 0.85 (in January-July of 2018 to 0.87). Foreign trade operations were held with partners from 218 countries of the world. The largest export markets of the Ukraine – Egypt, India, Italy, China, Netherlands, Poland, Russia and Turkey. The largest import markets of Ukraine are Belarus, Italy, China, Germany, Poland, Russia, USA and Turkey.
