The Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova expects that the cooperation program with the IMF will be the last for Ukraine.

The new Cabinet will work to ensure that the cooperation program with the International monetary Fund (IMF) became the latest. This was stated by the Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova in the air of ICTV channel, RBC-Ukraine online reports on Monday, September 2.

According to the head of the Ministry of Finance, the program will be longer than the previous one, however will probably be the last.

“We are working with the IMF. We have a formal mission who come to discuss the program or its views. That’s what we expect now to discuss this program. It will be a new and slightly longer. I hope we call it the last program. After all, for all previous years Ukraine has always been completed and terminated these programs,” said Markarov.

The Minister said the problem of Ukraine “to graduate from the program,” as it was ahead of other European countries.

“To run the program so that the economy was at that stage of development where we will need the help of the lender. And we can truly live for yourself,” said Markarov.

The NBU announced a program with the IMF by $10 billion

Earlier it was reported that the International monetary Fund mission will arrive in Kyiv in the coming weeks.
