Ukraine on freedom of speech “has overtaken” North Korea and Iran
Freedom House released a report on the state of media freedom.
Ukraine was named a state with partial media freedom. This is stated in the report of the international NGO Freedom House on the state of media freedom in 2015.
According to the report, the state of press freedom in Ukraine is “partly free”. Also noted that, overall, press freedom in 2015 is the lowest level in the past 12 years.
According to Freedom House, only 13% of the population live in conditions of really free press, 41% – partly free, 46% – not free.
The worst indicators of media freedom in North Korea, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Crimea, Cuba, Belarus, Equatorial Guinea, Iran and Syria.
The status of a country with free media is indicated in green, partially free – yellow, and not free – purple color.
