Ukraine joined the TRANS-Caspian transport route

The project aims to provide a transport link between China and Europe bypassing Russia.

Ukrzaliznytsia has signed a Protocol on Ukraine’s entry into the TRANS-Caspian international transport route. About it at himself in Facebook the Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian.

“While the Prime Minister visited Odessa oblast, inspected the status of road recovery and the situation with weight control, Ivan Fedorko, on behalf of the Railways in Tbilisi today signed a Protocol on Ukraine’s entry into the TRANS-Caspian international transport route”, – he wrote.

Omeljan also said that an agreement was reached on reducing comprehensive rates for transportation from $5559 to $3980 per 40-foot container from Izawa (Volyn region) to the border with PRC (Dostyk).

TRANS-Caspian transport route, international transport route China-Turkey-Europe, which is part of the New silk road from China to Western Europe and aims to provide a transport link between China and Europe bypassing Russia, through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.

The project was founded in October 2013 by the establishment of a coordinating Committee on development of TRANS-Caspian international transport route.

Previously, the train is a container ship with Ukrainian goods, carrying them to China the experimental route bypassing Russia (for the so-called silk road), was detained for two days for lack of payment by the customer, but eventually reached its destination.
