Ukraine may start export of wheat to Saudi Arabia

Украина может начать экспорт пшеницы в Саудовскую Аравию

Ukraine did not sell wheat to Saudi Arabia in 2016, being the main exporter of barley in this country.

Saudi Arabia plans to freeze relations with Canada in trade because of the conflict that could give Ukraine to resume wheat exports this season. It is reported The New Yorker.

Thus, the state Agency of the Kingdom provided guidance to exporters of grain to abandon the purchase of wheat and barley in Canada through international tenders.

However, analysts believe that this situation can contribute to Ukraine to resume grain exports to Saudi Arabia already this year.

Ukraine is a major exporter of barley to Saudi Arabia, but the wheat is not sold in this country in 2016.

We will remind, in the first half of the year Ukraine reduced grain exports by 11.4% compared to the same period last year to 3.2 billion.

In the 2017/2018 marketing year, grain exports amounted to 39.4 million tons for $6.4 billion.
