Ukraine’s GDP per capita will increase by half, according to the IMF

The IMF published a forecast for the development of the economy for five years. Growth in Ukraine is expected to be above average in the world.

In the next five years, the GDP per capita in Ukraine will grow by 50%. This is stated in the forecast of the International monetary Fund.

As of 2018 the gross domestic product of Ukraine per capita is 2,82 thousand dollars, developing countries – 5,49 thousand dollars, the average world – 11,73 thousand dollars, in developed countries – 48, 97mm thousand dollars.

According to the IMF forecast, in 2023 these indicators will be of 4.22 thousand dollars to the Ukraine (an increase of 50%) of 7.43 thousand dollars to developing countries (35% growth), 14,49 thousand dollars – the world average (growth 24%), 58,46 thousand dollars for the developed countries (growth 19%).

A more accurate measure of GDP per capita is the measure calculated by purchasing power parity. GDP per capita at purchasing power parity takes into account the difference of currency rates and prices.

For this indicator, as of 2018, Ukraine’s GDP per capita at purchasing power parity is of 9.21 thousand dollars, developing countries – 12,51 thousand dollars, the average world indicator is missing, the developed countries 51,42 thousand dollars.

According to the IMF forecast, in 2023 GDP per capita at purchasing power parity will be of 12.26 thousand dollars – to Ukraine (increase of 33%), 16.5 thousand of dollars to developing countries (growth 32%), the average world indicator is missing, 60,29 thousand dollars – developed countries (17%).

We will note, according to the state statistics service, Ukraine’s GDP growth in the second quarter is 3.8%. The national Bank expects slowing economic growth in the coming years.

Previously, the Finance Ministry announced that next year all social standards will increase by 2%. While inflation is expected to be not less than 8%.
