Ukraine did not violate the rules of passage through the Kerch Strait, assured Poroshenko

The Ukrainian side has fulfilled all the requirements of the Russian Federation on the passage across the Kerch Strait, as well as in September, the President said.

The Ukrainian side has timely delivered a message about the movement of a group of ships about the intention of the passage through the Kerch Strait. This was stated by the President Petro Poroshenko during a meeting on strengthening the country’s defense on Friday, November 30.

“Passing message traffic through the Strait, the Ukrainian side is also clearly confirmed its readiness to take on Board a pilot to carry out the relevant navigation services. Absolutely identical to how it was in September during the previous pass,” – said Poroshenko.

We will note, in Russia insist that Ukraine is not informed of the passage of ships up to 48 hours and has not confirmed the intention 24 hours before passing through the Kerch Strait. The FSB claim that the Ukrainian court unlawfully violated the state border of the Russian Federation and therefore was detained.

The evening of 25 November the Kerch bridge, the Russian special forces seized three Ukrainian ships. As a result, were wounded six Ukrainian soldiers.

The foreign Ministry of Ukraine said that Russia started the war against Ukraine in international waters.

Russia calls Ukraine’s actions in the Kerch Strait “provocative”. The Russian foreign Ministry handed a protest note to the chargé d’affaires of Ukraine.
