Ukraine reduces gas imports because of the warm winter

Average daily imports fell to 25.8 million cubic meters.

Ukraine in early January reduced the average daily natural gas imports by 16.2% compared to December last year from 30.8 million cubic meters to 25.8 million cubic meters.

This is evidenced by the calculations by Interfax-Ukraine on the basis of operational data of Ukrtransgaz.

“At the same time the average imports in December at 29.8% (13.1 million cubic meters) lower than in July (43,9 million cubic meters), which is associated with warm weather and high inventories in underground storage (UGS)”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that a year earlier the average daily imports of gas amounted to: November 2016 – 51,6 million cubic meters, and in 2016 – 53.5 million cube m, 1-7 Jan-2017 is 48.1 million cubic meters.

As reported Корреспондент.netat the beginning of 2018 in UGS of Ukraine was held 14.7 billion cubic meters of gas. It is the largest figure for the last five years.
