Ukraine refused to participate in the PACE session

Украина отказалась от участия в сессии ПАСЕ

The Ukrainian delegation refused to participate in the next PACE session in October, and will develop a “plan for the return of confidence” in the Assembly.

The Ukrainian delegation will not attend the autumn session of the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, said the MP from public Servants Bohdan Yaremenko in Facebook on Saturday, September 21.

“Having no other possible response to violations of the organization’s own principles, and in the face of rather blatant ignoring of its interests, Ukraine is currently refrains from sending its delegation to the next session of PACE,” wrote Yaremenko.

The MP stressed that at the present time the focus will be on preparation of the Ukrainian delegation in PACE and consult with other members of the Council of Europe to “develop a plan for the return of confidence in the PACE”.

“This approach was supported by the majority factions of the Ukrainian Parliament”, – wrote Yaremenko.

Note, on the eve of the constituent Assembly by the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada in PACE. The delegation was headed by the MP from public Servants Elizabeth Jasko.

Recall that in late June, the PACE returned to Russia all the powers, despite the fact that Moscow did not fulfill any of the seven resolutions that became the reason for the sanctions against the Russian delegation.

In response, the delegation of Ukraine left the session of the Assembly and the Verkhovna Rada has canceled the invitation for election observers from PACE.
