In season 2017/18, Ukrainian producers of apples shipped to foreign markets 40,9 thousand tons of fruit, or 3.2 times more than in 2016/17 MG.

Ukraine in the season 2017/18 exported a record volume of apples for at least the past 5 years, according to Agravery. As analysts EastFruit, compared with the previous season, the volume of supply on the external market increased 3.2 times.

According to gosstat, in season 2017/18, Ukrainian producers of apples shipped to foreign markets to 40.9 thousand tons of fruit, or 3.2 times more than in 2016/17 MG. For comparison, in the 2016/17 season, Apple exports amounted to 12.8 thousand tons.

Almost half of the record volume (20,2 thousand tons) was shipped to the Belarusian market. It is worth noting that the country increased purchases of Ukrainian apples from 2.1 times.

Second place went to Moldova with a market share of 19.5%. According to official data, the Moldovan company in season 2017/18 imported about 8 thousand tons of apples from Ukraine.

The TOP 3 also included and Austria which imported 6.6 thousand tons of fruit. This country bought apples exclusively as raw material for further production of Apple concentrate.

Next in the ranking are Hungary (1.7 thousand tonnes) and Sweden (1.2 thousand tons) shares of 4% and 3% respectively.

Earlier it was reported that grain exports in 2017/2018 marketing year (MG, July-June) amounted to 39.4 million tons for $6.4 billion.
