In Ukraine from 1 January 2019 minibuses, converted from trucks to passenger will not be used for the carriage of passengers.

In Ukraine since 2019 will strengthen control on the market of bus passenger transportations. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian, reports on Friday, July 20, the press service of the Agency.

Noted that Omeljan held an expanded meeting with representatives of the automotive industry and heads of companies engaged in passenger transportation in Ukraine. During the meeting the Minister stressed that the government increases control of the bus passenger transport market.

“Most of the urban, suburban and interurban intraregional and interregional bus transport in Ukraine carried out under conditions that would not be considered safe and comfortable for the passenger. The average age of “minibuses” – more than 10 years, the buses of average and high capacity – more than 20 years and more. Part of buses, called “minibuses”, converted from freight vehicles. Often these vehicles do not conform to any safety requirements or the requirements of comfort,” he said.

According to him, in Ukraine from January 1, 2019 minibuses, converted from trucks to passenger will not be used for the carriage of passengers. These buses will be evacuated on penal platforms and then to go for scrap.
