Chairmanship in GUAM moved to Ukraine
The previous Chairman of the Organization for democracy and economic development and wished success to their Ukrainian colleagues.
The chairmanship of the Organization for democracy and economic development (GUAM) on Thursday, December 6, has moved from Moldova to Ukraine, the press service of the foreign Ministry of Moldova.
This decision was approved today in Milan, where a meeting of foreign Ministers of the GUAM countries within the framework of Ministerial Council of the OSCE.
“I am convinced that the tradition that exists within GUAM, to work on a consensus basis will enable States members of the Organization to continue fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation, both at regional and international level”, – said the foreign Minister of Moldova Tudor Ulyanovsk.
The head of the Moldovan foreign Minister wished success to their Ukrainian colleagues, expressing hope that the organization will continue the course for deepening economic and humanitarian cooperation in the interests of the peoples of these States.
The GUAM regional Association of four countries: Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan Republic and Republic of Moldova. Formation of this form of cooperation is the unity of the positions of countries with similar political and economic external orientations.
Recall, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the GUAM Charter in 2008. Later, in Kiev, opened the GUAM Secretariat.
