Ukrainian Chebotar won silver in the karate world Championships

At the world Championships in karate Ukraine won one medal.

Ukrainian karate Valery Chebotar won the silver medal in the 24th world championship in karate held in Madrid, Spain.

Valery Chebotar, which ranks 3rd in the world rankings in Kumite in a category to 84 kg, won in the preliminary stage six fights. Ukrainian athlete on the way to the finals defeated rivals from Norway (6:0), Belgium (4:2), Senegal (1:0), Bosnia and Herzegovina (1:1, on the first score), Iran (6:5), and in the semifinals defeated Yuldashev Daniyar from Kazakhstan on hanteo.

In the final Cebotari had clash with Croat Ivan Qualichem, but due to injury during the team competition, failed to reach the finals and settled for silver.

Had chances for a medal Galina Melnik, but in the fight for bronze she lost Kopunovic Miroslava from Slovakia for hentai.
