The world championship starts on the 3rd of November in Khanty-Mansiysk.
Next Saturday, November 3, in Khanty-Mansiysk (Russia) starts the world championship on chess among women.
The competition will feature the participation of 64 athletes from 28 countries, including five Ukrainian chess players.
In the first round, Anna Muzychuk (2555) will meet with Rani Hamid (1909) from Bangladesh, Mariya Muzychuk (2533) will play vafai Shihandai (2148) from Egypt, Anna Ushenina (2451) will compete with Lilit Mkrtchan (2384) from Armenia, first opponent , and Natalia Zhukova (2403) will be the Chinese Shizune No (2427), Inna Gaponenko (2409) kicks off the match against the representatives of the USA Irina Krush (2417).
Competitions will be held according to the knockout system. In the first five rounds (semi-final, inclusive) matches consist of 2 parties, with the time control 90 minutes for 40 moves and 30 minutes until the end with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1. In the event of a draw the winner determines the tie-break.
In the final match played 4 games with classic time control. In case of a tie, the players shall play a tie-break.
