The national airline in the segment of cheap airline SkyUp said about placing an order for the delivery of five new Boeing aircraft worth 624 million dollars. This was reported in the SkyUp, says Center for transport strategies.

The company said that it has agreed about delivery of two Boeing 737 MAX 8 and three medium-haul Boeing 737 MAX 10.

Delivery of the first five aircraft directly from the factory in Seattle is expected in 2023.

Under the terms of the contract, provide the option of additional ordering five more aircraft of the same models with the same delivery time.

Thus, it is planned that the fleet SkyUp in 2023-2024 will be supplemented with 10 aircraft.

“Boeing 737 MAX 8 with a capacity of 189 seats will allow us to perform medium-haul flights (distance of over 5000 km) and 10 Boeing 737 MAX with a capacity of 230 seats will provide us with the implementation of Charter programs in the mass destinations such as Turkey, Egypt, Spain, etc. Both aircraft have low operating costs, allowing airlines to substantially reduce the cost of flights and to offer the market a quality product at an affordable price,” says CEO SkyUp Airlines Eugene Hojnacki.

The airline informed that to date, its fleet consists of three Boeing 737 Next Generation – two aircraft 2013 edition and one Boeing 737-700NG 2002 issue.

In SkyUp also reiterated its intention to start flights in April of this year: first, it will be the charters, and from the middle of the summer will be the first regular flights on the route Kiev-Odessa and Kharkov-Odessa.

According to sources, SkyUp took on lease two Boeing 737-800 aircraft that were previously operated by Malaysia Airlines.

Information about aircraft already submitted for registration by the state aviation service of Ukraine, which will allow the airline to receive an air operator certificate aircraft.
