Украинский сахар поссорил Россию и Казахстан

Russia is asking the Eurasian economic Commission to consider the question of the abolition of preferences of Kazakhstan on imports of white sugar.

Russia has accused Kazakhstan of violating the norms of the Eurasian economic Union because of the import of sugar free economic zones. About it reports RBC.

Russia is asking the Eurasian economic Commission to consider the question of the abolition of preferences of Kazakhstan on imports of white sugar.

The idea is to deprive the individual of the Kazakh enterprise opportunities in violation of the legislation of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU) duty-free import of sugar from Ukraine and Europe as a free economic zone on specinvtehnica, and then also the duty to put it on the market already in the confectionery and soft drinks.

This issue will be discussed by the Prime Ministers during the regular session of the Eurasian intergovernmental Council on April 30.

Sugar belongs to the group of “sensitive products” on which the countries participating in the EEU (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia) agreed to take decisions in the framework of the Council of the Eurasian economic Commission.

The situation on the sugar market in September 2017 drew the attention of the Russian Ministry of agriculture. He proposed to limit sugar imports from Kazakhstan and Belarus. As pointed out by the then Minister of agriculture Alexander Tkachev, Russian farmers suffer serious losses (about 70-80 billion roubles per year) due to the fact that neighbors the duty-free import from third countries of cheap raw sugar, and then deliver it to the Russian market “at bargain prices”.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine will reduce supplies of sugar. Compared to last markentingovoe year Ukrainian exports of sugar fell by 10%. Major deliveries were carried out to Azerbaijan (17% of total exports), Uzbekistan (13%), Israel (12%) and Kazakhstan (11%).

We will remind, 2018 Ukraine exported sugar at $217 million, entering the top ten largest suppliers in the world. In 2017-2018 MG Ukraine has supplied to foreign markets 560 400 tons of sugar.
