The expectations of the Ukrainian hryvnia over the next three months have worsened, according to the study of consumer sentiment of the citizens.

In August of devaluation expectations of Ukrainians increased significantly. This is evidenced by the research of consumer moods of Ukrainians, carried out by GfK Ukraine.

In particular, the expectations of Ukrainians regarding hryvnia exchange rate in the next three months have deteriorated: the index of devaluation expectations rose by 16.7 points – to values 170,9.

“Consumer sentiment continued a slight decline in August. Deteriorated expectations regarding the development of the economy over the next year, accompanied by the growth of devaluation expectations,” said analysts.

In particular, in August 2018, the consumer sentiment index was 60.3, which is 1.5 points less than last month.

The current conditions index decreased by 1.1 points and amounted to 59.6.

The economic expectations index in August decreased by 1.8 p – to a mark of 60.8.

Ukrainians ‘ expectations for unemployment in August has worsened: the index of expected unemployment dynamics increased by 5.8 p. and amounted to 133,6.

The index of inflation expectations deteriorated slightly and amounted to 190, which is by 2.4 p higher last month.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine was at risk of a currency crisis.

Analysts also predicted that in September the hryvnia exchange rate can be stabilized, but by November the dollar for the first time in 2015 to break the mark of 30 UAH.
