The pump station will ensure uninterrupted water supply of more than 300 thousand people in the Donetsk region.

In the village Karlovka Donetsk region on Tuesday, 26 June, was launched Carlo pumping station which water will ensure uninterrupted water supply of more than 300 thousand people in the area. About it reports a press-service of the International Committee of the red cross.

It is noted that the station had been invested within two years, more than 800 thousand dollars.

“Access to water is an issue of primary importance, especially in times of conflict. That is why we have invested so much time and resources into this project at the same time urged the parties to the conflict to do everything possible to protect key water infrastructure on both sides of the line of contact and to avoid their damage,” – said the head of the ICRC delegation in Ukraine Alan eshleman.

Conducted works include full reconstruction of the pumping station, the construction of new transmission lines with a total length of 2.8 km to the train station and the reservoir dam and the reopening of the dam on the reservoir.

Earlier it was reported that about 3 million residents of Donbass can be left without water in case of stoppage of the filter stations.
