The Executive Committee of UNESCO took the decision on the location of the monitoring mission of the organization in Crimea, which helps to protect the Khan’s Palace and other monuments of the Peninsula.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin on Wednesday, April 11, announced that UNESCO had made a decision that will make possible the placement of the monitoring mission in Crimea.

“UNESCO’s Executive Board adopted an important decision on Crimea. This is actually the opportunity to embed monitoring mission and the struggle for educational rights, science, protection of cultural monuments in Crimea, including the Khan’s Palace. Do not give the occupying power to plunder and destroy the Ukrainian heritage,” wrote the Minister on Twitter.

As reported, in the Crimea during the so-called restoration of the Khan’s Palace is destroyed the landmark in 2014, was supposed to be included in the UNESCO world cultural heritage site by UNESCO.

Later Kiev called on UNESCO to help save the Khan’s Palace in Bakhchisarai.
