The overseas private investment Corporation, USA (OPIC) plans to invest $650 million in new projects in Ukraine. This was stated by the President of the Corporation ray Washburn during the meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman, reports UNIAN.

“In the immediate plans of our Corporation are projects to invest $250 million on a new project with “Energoatom”. Another agreement under detention – for construction of power facilities in Kyiv. It will be a project for $400 million,” said Washburn.

The President of OPIC thanked for assistance in the preparation of these projects, Finance Minister Alexander danyluk.

Also, Washburn reported reaching agreements on two projects in Ukraine to support small businesses.

“We have already held the first meeting which gave start to these projects,” he added.

In addition, the OPIC President said about negotiating another project, without specifying details and the amount invested. “We are interested in deepening economic ties between the two countries and it is very symbolic that my first trip after the appointment is here,” he said, Washburn.

In turn, Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman expressed hope that bilateral cooperation will be successful and thanked the US for supporting our country.

“I am deeply convinced that we will be able in the future to provide a more dynamic economic growth. We need investment, and I think that in the framework of our cooperation we will be able to determine the priorities that will be beneficial to both parties”, – said the head of government.
