США впервые за 45 лет стали лидером по нефтедобыче

In the United States continues to increase oil production

The volume of oil production in the United States, according to preliminary estimates, exceeded the indices of Saudi Arabia and Russia.

The United States became a world leader in oil production for the first time in 45 years. It is reported by the U.S. Administration of energy information.

“This year, the US may have surpassed Russia and Saudi Arabia becoming the largest producer of crude oil in the world”, – stated in the message.

In the United States noted that these findings are based on preliminary estimates.

“For the first time in more than two decades in February, the crude oil in the United States exceeded its production in Saudi Arabia. In June and August, the U.S. surpassed Russia in production of crude oil for the first time since February 1999,” reads the document.

Experts of Administration energy information predicts that the U.S. will produce more oil than Saudi Arabia and Russia, during this and the following years.

“The reduction in price of oil in mid-2014 has led to the fact that U.S. producers reduced their costs and temporarily reduced oil production. However, after rising prices at the beginning of 2016, investment, and production began to rise. While Russia and Saudi Arabia have maintained a relatively stable level of oil production growth over the past years,” they concluded.

USA was the leader in world oil production during the greater part of the twentieth century and until 1973, then lost in the USSR, and then and Saudi Arabia.

Earlier it was expected that the US will be able to become a world leader in oil production in 2019.

As reported, USA for the second time in history, will open the oil reserve. In the period from 2018 to 2025, the U.S. plans to sell 58 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves.
