The US authorities have allowed RUSAL and other companies owned by the businessman Oleg Deripaska, to sign new contracts, but only with old partners. This is stated in the message of the office for foreign assets control of the U.S. Treasury (OFAC).

Clarifies that US residents, as well as their partners, can make agreements with UC RUSAL and other companies of Deripaska, fell under the sanctions, but only if their cooperation has lasted for several years.

To himself not to fall under sanctions, as provided by U.S. law, partner of Deripaska’s companies will have to provide on demand OFAC documents stating that they buy or sell products in the same volume as before.

As you know, in early April, the U.S. imposed new sanctions against Russia. In the so-called black list includes several major Russian businessmen and companies controlled by them, including controlled Oleg Deripaska En+ Group, GAZ Group, Basic element and RUSAL.

At the end of April it became known that Deripaska agreed to reduce the proportion of En+ below 50% and to retire from the Board of Directors, to the U.S. Treasury lifted sanctions against the company. At the same time he has stated that he intends to retain control of RUSAL.
