Salaries of Ukrainians will rise slower than in previous years

In the next two years wage growth will slow to 7% and 5% in real terms, according to the Central Bank.

In the coming years, wage growth in Ukraine will slow down. This is stated in the forecast of the National Bank, writes UNIAN on Monday, November 19.

So, the Central Bank expects that in 2019 in nominal wages will grow by 16% in 2020 10% in 2020, or 7% and 5% in real terms.

Among the determining factors in the slowdown of wage growth, the expected reduction in the intensity of labour migration, the lower the rate of increase in the minimum wage and salaries in the public sector.

The national Bank noted that in the medium budgeted moderate growth in the minimum wage by 12%, to 4170 UAH, in 2019.

Also in NBU reminded that the increase of salaries last year amounted to 37%, and predicted that on average this year, employers will raise nominal wages by 25%, or 13% in real terms.

According to state statistics, in September the average nominal salary in Ukraine reached UAH 9 042, which is 0.7% more than in August, and by 23% than in September of last year.
