In Sweden gave “Nobel” 2019

Laureates of the State Bank of Sweden in memory of Alfred Nobel in 2019 became Esther Duflot (France), Abhijit Banerjee (India) and Michael Kremer (USA), announced the Nobel Committee on Monday, October 14.

The prize was awarded “for their experimental approach to the reduction of global poverty.”

“The results of the research of the laureates in economic Sciences 2019 has significantly improved our ability to fight poverty in practice. In one of their research more than 5 million Indian children were able to use the programs of remedial teaching in schools”, – stated in the message of the Nobel Committee.

 

Esther Duflot became the youngest scientist ever to receive the Nobel prize in Economics. It is announced a laureate at the age of 46 years. It is also only the second woman to receive such an award.

As reported, the Nobel prize for literature was announced once in two years. Award of 2019 was awarded to the Austrian playwright Peter Handke, and 2018 – Polish novelist and poet Olga Tokarchuk.
